When we create an invitation, we don’t use templates. There’s no gallery of designs to choose from, or a seasonal release of artwork. Each invitation is designed in response to the brief, to the occasion and the celebration.

For Julia and Mark’s wedding stationery, their reception venue – the Weingut Holzapfel – iconic in design and full of character, defined our response to the design of their invitation suite. We utilised the geometric shapes and bold colour to communicate the unique character of the building, and set the tone for an event to be remembered.

Inspired by the Austrian aesthetic, our modern and minimal typographic treatment allows for clear communication of the event details. The clean, sans serif typeface ‘Circular’, in a simple alignment, complements the use of bold graphic elements and unconventional composition methods.

The bilingual invitation suite was extensive, featuring a range of custom die cut shapes inspired by the design elements from the Weingut Holzapfel building. From save the dates, through to the invitations themselves with rsvp and event cards, finishing with the menus, thank you cards and table numbers, we utilised a range of finishing techniques including holographic foil, die cutting and fluorescent ink.
